Exploring Australia's Kakadu National Park



Kakadu National Park is enlisted in the world’s most beautiful heritage place, covering more than 19,000 square kilometres. It is a magnificent landscape embracing contrasts. The place is surrounded with serene waters sprinkled with lovely water lily flowers and saltwater crocodiles. The pointed peaks of lofty cliffs present amazing view leaving everyone spellbound. You can observe the most spectacular Jim Jim Falls, take a glance of early Aboriginal rock art gallery at Ubirr or Nourlangie Rock or discover the charming Yellow Water. Almost 1,000 kinds of plants, one third of Australian bird species and a quarter of all Australian freshwater fish species can be easily found in the park.
Things to do:
·         Sail the Yellow Water Billabong and discover beautiful birds, animals and giant crocodiles.

Kakadu is surrounded and moulded by water. It looks just picture perfect, attracting zillions of tourists from all over the world. Kakadu is a home to many splendid places including the South Alligator, East Alligator, Roper, Katherine and Daly Rivers. You can view the spectacular waterfalls along with numerous migratory birds from November to May. This is the ideal time period to see the natural beauty of Kakadu. The unique and varied avian life in Kakadu comprises of azure kingfishers, cuckoos, jacanas, rufous magpie geese, jabiru, owls and a lot more.

Entry Fee for Kakadu National Park
Kakadu National Park renewed its entry fee in 2010 to preserve the natural and cultural values of the park environment and develop the amenities for visitors. Similar to other World Heritage spots around the world, Kakadu National Park follows world-best management practices and provide facilities to more than 200,000 visitors. Bowali Visitor Centre
Before traveling Kakadu National Park, get familiarised by discovering the Bowali Visitor Centre. Here you can watch an audio visual clip of 25 minutes in order to better understand Kakadu’s land and moods, then take a walk through the explanatory presentations. Videos are displayed for about half an hour giving diverse outlooks on Kakadu along with its global importance. The environment based display and library gives comprehensive information about the Park including what to see and do. Visit The Marrawuddi Gallery to find Aboriginal arts and crafts, books and gifts and then enjoy a sip of perfect coffee at the nearby cafe.
Jim Jim Falls
This splendid waterfall is like a scene to behold. It is located in the Arnhem Land cliff boasting eternally white soft sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Walk through the rocks for about 2 kilometres to adore this unusual region.
Mamukala Wetlands and Bird Hide
Mamukala Wetlands and Bird Hide present the exhibition of thousands of migratory magpie geese in the dry season. You can take a look to this unusual exhibition from one of the bird hides along the marked walking tracks near the serene wetlands. Normally, walks differ from one to three kilometres.
Koolpin Gorge
You can’t get an easy access to the beautiful Koolpin Gorge (Jarangbammi) because of several limitations. Those wishing to explore the site must get an entry permit and key for entry.  You can get the relevant information from Kakadu National Park Permits Officer on telephone.
Nourlangie Rock Art Site
The beautiful walls of the Nourlangie Rock Art Site have been serving as a shelter and canvas for thousand years. Popular paintings like Namarrgon (lightning man) explore the association of the people with their country and principles. From April - October, Park Rangers call tourists to join them and share their familiarity and knowledge about this famous ancient gallery.
Twin Falls         
Twin Falls is located in the Arnhem Land escarpment in australia. Try a ranger-guided boat tour, followed by a bushwalk and a picturesque stroll along a boardwalk to the flowing waterfalls. You will get to experience panoramic views of the soaring glittery waters. To enjoy the best view, sit and relax on the white soft sandy shore.
